Realistic solution to toxic gold use (without removing gold)

I would propose the following:

#1 Create a cooldown for gold use per province. If you spend gold in Detroit to rush a building, you cannot rush another building or unit for an hour. Some can rush 10 units if they have 10 ICs, but not 10 units from 1 IC.

#2 Spending gold to rush research will not move the meter past 75% complete. The combination of this, and #1 prevents mass tacs on day 2, and ridiculous tech imbalance on day 8.

#3 Remove all functionality for gold use on the espionage tab. Every single one of these options are purely toxic in nature and should be disabled completely.

There you have it. Enact these changes, and gold use would still be common, but it wouldnt be game breaking. Gold usage wouldnt have the "negative stigma" that it currently has, where everyone instantly hates anyone who uses gold because it ruins the game.

A happy and healthy community = more people staying, and a growing member base. Which means more people to spend money. So while you will have fewer of those aholes who spend $100 in 5 minutes, you will have a lot more people spending $5 here and there because they arent afraid of being BM'd and ganged up on.

If you agree with these suggestions, please like this post. Encourage your friends in game to log into the forums and do the same. If you have suggestions to modify this, leave them below. Discussion is encouraged! But most importantly, please keep in mind that at the end of the day, this is a business. And the only chance for change is a solution that improves the game while ensuring the developer can continue to make money.

Think they'll be over praised, and prove to not what people expect. They'll fill a role, but no single unit is all that great, and they'd only allow air access to x amount of someone's coast, which doesn't really matter once you've landed, because there's a lot more land to go. Even then, several AA batteries up and down the coast line will resolve that. So I just can't understand why folks are so set and excited about them. Waste of effort for something so buggy imo.

hhmm nah

one og the biggest defenses when invading a foreign nation by sea

is naval bombers and aircraft, your aircaft can blow them outta the sea

obviously you should have them protected

landing in a new continent?

perfect

hunting subs in the middle of the ocean?

perfect

bombing cities to the ground

nah, dont think strat bombers should be allowed

Lets say in a 24hour period gold costs inflate and are reset the next day. This would stop massive rush building.

1st 12hr speedup 1000

2nd 12hr speedup 1250

3rd 12hr speedup 1562

4th 12hr speedup 1953

5th 12hr speedup 2441

Possibly you could add a another much smaller inflation that persists through the entire game.

This is an idea that the folks at Bytro might actually like. But, just about everyone in the entire playing community that actually buys and uses Gold is going to have a hissy fit. There are other ideas out there for the free-players, like my idea where every user may play at-most one Gold-free match at a time and can't start a new one until the current one they are in either comes to a conclusion or they get booted out by the admin player for inactivity. This would serve to have an additional benefit of discouraging match abandonment by the poorer ... something for which you raised an issue in another thread.

But, these ideas are showing that you are thinking about the issues and that is good. Keep proposing them and don't get discouraged by naysayers like myself.

It seemed like such a waste to destroy an entire battle station just to eliminate one man. But Charlie knew that it was the only way to ensure the absolute and total destruction of Quasi-duck, once and for all.
