When a province is captured, many buildings are intact. Some of these high level buildings have been captured by me or been captured and used against me. I suggest the ability to demolish/scorch buildings in a province with no refunds. I also suggest an additional feature to deactivate some buildings like you can in S1914. These abilities will help with resource management and slowing down enemy advances. It's a shame that this is not in the game yet since scortched earth policies played such a big role in wars.

I'll lend my voice in agreement that some sort of scorched earth mechanism should exist. It is a tried and true tactic of war. It will create more incentive to take risks, as a leader would need to balance protecting their lines, and the race to capture valuable resources before ones rival can successfully demolish their holdings.

It'll make medium tanks a valid consideration in versus heavy tanks. (Which right now, I am very unimpressed with the way this game gives the idea that heavy tanks are a valid option. WWII proved they were a terrible waste or resources, and limited their armies strategic options.)

I guess it's not like hitler bombed all of paris when walking in

This is one of the oldest recurring suggestions on this forum; it just so happens that it wasn't re-suggested for a while, so I'm afraid no one gets credit.

I for one, think the regular destruction of buildings during capture is quite harsh enough as it is. Lets be honest, most of your conquered territory usually has zero buildings or some half-destroyed barracks or smth, some positive exceptions aside. Do you guys really want those to be demolished as well? Conquest should always be a march into a waisteland? Heavens, you guys must all be masochists...

That’s one of the tactics that Stalin used in Operation Barbarossa, and it kinda worked
Looking for improvement.

Scorched earth tactics!
