Research Ideas
Idea 1: Secret research - Radar station. New building type - Radar station.
Improves detection of aircraft/rockets, improves range of detection (aircraft/rockets only), improves counter-air response.
Idea 2: Spy mission - Industrial espionage.
Specific mission that allows a player to 'steal' research information.
Criteria: if the mission is successful the spying player gains a small percentage (1-5%) of research in any one (!) unit/level that they have not completed work on AND that they have the next lower level research completed. Which qualified research is random. I.E. a successful industrial espionage attempt determines infantry, the victim has level 5 infantry, the spy country has level 4 - so they gain a percentage (1-5) to add to any future or ongoing research.
Drawbacks: Useless against countries that are not ahead of you, by precisely one level of completed research, in any field. Still as susceptible to defensive spies. Research can not be completed by spying alone, but spies can shorten the research time. More then one industrial espionage element does not change the chances of success or increase the reward for success.
Advantages: Mirrors a real WWII use for spies not yet represented in the game. Gives players another valid use for spies.
