A good idea is to limit the maximum number of labs a player can build, too.
Research Labs
I know it might sound far fetched, but I’d like the implementation of research ‘labs’ in the game. These labs will serve as a good substitution to the research tab in-game. Basically, labs have to be built to be able to research new units, and you have to upgrade them to be able to research further (the devs should decide how that works because I have no clue).
Each laboratory should have a capacity of 1 unit research/day, and should take around 10 hours to build to avoid mass researching.
Research progress should be saved whenever a player decides to cancel.

VERY BAD IDEA
Research is tough enough
THIS IS NOT CON
forget it
Tho the saved research should be implemented

Honestly in my opinion it would make total sense for countries to be able to expand the amount of things they can research, along with saving research progress (seriously do scientists just burn any papers they have, scrap all prototypes and forget everything? Makes no sense.) Either way there might be an issue with doing this that I just haven’t thought of, but it seems like a golden idea. At least add saved research, as the above comment said.
That being said, the issue with adding literally anything major to this game comes down to complexity. The game is already so complex and hard to master that most players just give up, leading to the high turnover rate. Adding something like this would make it even harder to break in, and I see this as a chronic issue with the game.
Perhaps if the developers find some way to make it so the game a bit less intimidating (like somehow improving UI and simplifying certain aspects?), and/or easier to learn (making better tips and tutorials?), then it would be easier to add more complexity. But as it is, the game is already so complex that adding new things might just overwhelm players.

I get it, and I think there should be more ways to get more research done, plus this would make building more important, I think a better alternative is that every level 5 secret lab in a core province adds another research space, this would be a problem for queueing research though.
not bad

Something tells me this would open the door to an unforeseen exploit down the road. Perhaps just add the ability to pay with resources for the research of more units, on top of the 2 free ones?Zaktty wrote:

No cap to the amount is the source of this unforeseen exploit. They should be capped.Carking the 6th wrote:
