I totally understand it. But the reality is that Canvas won't come back, and also no mode that looks identical to Canvas will ever come. This ship has sailed, sorry We can only try to make the new mode better for everyone.
I hope yesterday's update is to your liking as some of the changes were bases on direct feedback from this thread. And some more improvements are still coming up.

It is a graphic change which makes the game unplayable, to me and many others. And my wife will readily agree that I spent much more time on this game than on her, over the last few years; and yes, it really DOES feel like mourning.

Lol. I really don't know what to say to that.
Well what can I say? We have a good marriage. She is into painting; she spends WAY more time on that than on me, and I'm perfectly happy with that as well.
Even if you spend more time on Call of War than your wife, which you shouldn't, having different graphics is in no way comparable to your wife being murdered.
