Perhaps you would lose between 10-35% of your troops based on the size of the enemy force you are retreating from
Retreat!!
Ok this is unlogical that you cannot retret in this game, like why not if you could in real life, you should be able to in this game.

That seems like a good idea, as I often find myself not having the time to watch my army into the battle and pull them out if reinforcements show up through the fog. It would be useful to be able to save units that wont do any good in a fight and will be wasted, where as in real life, you could simply retreat and save a large number of men.

yes, but it should only be possible if you are the attacker, otherwise outnumbered defenders could constantly retreat through empty land, leading you away from their homeland or other points of interest, and if you didn't go take them out and take a detour they could attack from the rear or cut off reinforcments
Sounds like a tactical retreat to meMkmach7 wrote:

Yes I Thinks this feature needs to be added, both for the attacker and defender. Both sides could in real life, and it would be an easy feature to add, I would think.
It would be an interesting dynamic, but it would totally change the game. It's hard to say for sure if it would be better or worse. And it would not be a trivial change to implement. The battle scenarios are already very complex and optimized. This would add a completely new dimension to the complexity.
