I support (1) wholeheartedly, an actual quality of life change that would make things a bit more streamlined.
Revamp Unit Naming
This is a suggestion to reform the Unit naming process, it can be implemented through these 4 steps:
1) An option to disable naming units, most of the time the naming unit confirmation is just another button to press that slows down production and is only ever seen again in the newspaper, while I support naming, it's often unnecessary.
2) Options to name more units, for example, I may want to explicitly call one of my commando regiments the Special Air Service. This is not as important as the former and the following points
3) If a unit is named, it should at least appear in the Unit's information (when you press on it's name) and ideally should show in brackets next to the unit's proper name, e.g. 21st Battleship Flottila (HMS London).
4) Clarify unit names, for example, does 1 destroyer represent a single ship or a whole squadron, usually I would assume it was a whole squadron, but a single battleship is qualified as a battlegroup or flotilla, however, a single capital ship does and would not qualify as a strike group or flotilla during World War 2 or real life.

Not sure about (1) and (2) but I agree with 3) very strongly, and a stacked unit of e.g. 3 battleships ought to display the names of all three like in 1.5. I would also like to see the names appear as at present in the newspaper.
4) Pretty sure except carriers and battleships a "ship" represents a whole squadron.
Given historical numbers of battleships operated by Britain, Japan, other powers &c. in 1939, in HWW each battleship or carrier at least on Day One represents two ships.
But then that's because the historical balance refers not to having the correct number of units, but the correct ratio, so there's that.

Something to note, not directly affected by these suggestions but worth mentioning: whatever renaming changes take place, if any, it's important to maintain the army numbers (e.g. 4th battleship flotilla) in the newspaper any time units are mentioned. That matters for tracking stacks and stack composition.
1. Makes sense. You can kinda do this if you select multiple cities and build at once already, so this could just be expanded.
2. More naming is a feature Iβve always wanted, but this should only be allowed after the already existing naming system is improved.
3. Yes, it ousted to be like this and it should be brought back, I see no reason for why it was removed in the first place. Would make naming actually have a reason to exist and would add a little customization to the game as well, which is always a great addition to have.
Yup, cruisers and destroyers generally numbered from 300-500 crew size on average, so it would be like 2-maybe 3 ships at a time.Lord Crayfish wrote:

What if one manpower doesn't represent one man? Have we just been assuming the incorrect all along?
Think about it.
Nationalist China (not including uncontrolled regions such as Xinjiang and Tibet) has a population of 200,000,000 people on Day One in HWW. Yet it can only mobilise at most 2,000,000 and actually far fewer. If 1 man = 1 manpower, you can only mobilise 1% of your population!
We know China historically mobilised around 4 million -- twice that -- and that's just the central NRA. Australia for example mobilised 730,000 of 6,900,000 people. IRL I'd expect you could mobilise at least 10%, not 1%. That's taking into account that "able-bodied men" constitute 30% of the population.
So what if 1 manpower = 10 men? Not all have to be serving on the ships or in the regiments themselves, some could be in logistics &c.?
Just a thought. Not even a very good one.

Look at the population of countries in the game. In the tens of millions.

Yeah they really need to rework the populations. It's not realistic. The total should be around 2 billion in world maps.Carking the 6th wrote:

It also has no bearing on the game as it currently stands. At present there is no intrinsic benefit to choosing a country with a large population such as China or British India esp. in HWW. In real life this is one major advantage Nationalist China had over Japan.
They should rework it so it is realistic, and so that it impacts how many people you can recruit practically as well as theoretically.

Remember, Japan at its height actually had the 2nd largest population on Earth due to land from Chinaβ¦
