Should I look this up on google or will I get a better explanation here
Scorched earth is when you destroy everything so an invading army can't use it. The Russians used it a lot.
Basically "Scorched Earth" involves being able to destroy improvements already built in any territory you control.IISpikeII wrote:

It makes no sense that a player cannot do so in game. "Scorched earth" was used historically to deny usage of factories and other infrastructure and resources to advancing enemies armies, or to trash such improvements in territories conquered by armies to deny their use when recaptured by the home country forces. The strategy and use of the same is as old as organize warfare, and was commonly used in WWII.
I agree as far as it will take time and resources to be done.
well, it could be explained a littlebit better here. showing more details of how the scorched earth doctrine would play out in this game.
should i be able to destroy all of my buildings with the click of a button? or would it be some how restricted, like i am only allowed to destroy one building each day in each province?
or can i destroy mutliple buildings at once, but just as building them, it will take some hours to deconstruct them?
do i get any resources back? will it cost me something?
if the enemy manages to conquer the province, befor the process is finished, will the buildings than be damaged or fully functional?
also, maybe instead of destroying the buildings, it would be better to damage them by 50% or so. i mean, there is a chance that you could reconquere the province in the near future.
We answered all of these, read the thread.General_Motors wrote:

Then there is no point, the idea is to destroy everything not damage it.General_Motors wrote:

all i read here is that you should be able to destroy your own buildings.
doesnt explain how this should be done, if it works immediately or needs time, if it will cost something or if you get ressources back, etc...
Then look for one of the other Scorched Earth threads, it is thoroughly discussed in one.
It is a very interesting proposal,It would be very effective in large countries.
Something that is completely needed. Now, I don't want to restart an old thread, but they should not be destroyed with the click of a button. It would take a day.
It seems a good idea.Pablo22510 wrote:

*Uses scorched earth strategy to destroy all major cities*
*ends up recapturing said cities*
welp
Who's fault is that?
Yours.
Exactly
We want scorched earth.
When you invade a country and you take a city all the buildings that use to be there have to be rebuilt soI see no point in scorched earth if you will have to rebuild it anyway.

you have to REPAIR it. If someone uses escort CED earth, you'd have to start from scratch.
I would love to see that so I can abandon un strategic places with important buildings
