seaplane mothership

my proposal is to add 2 units:

- seaplane mother

- seaplane (reconnaissance)

Seaplane motherboard: this unit could embark the seaplanes (specifically only one unit) and transport them to the desired destination, this unit would have an average speed, similar to that of a cruiser, and a life much less than that of a destroyer ( since they did not need armor as they were not first-line units), it would have a cost similar to that of a destroyer, they would have a very low attack damage and defense due to the lack of weapons, this unit is the only one with the capacity to transport hydroplanes and when returning a seaplane unit it would take 10 minutes to collect the landed seaplanes in its surroundings, and another 30 minutes to refuel them.

Hydroplane: this unit would have a similar range, or a little greater than that of a tactical bomber (since by not carrying weapons they would not have much weight, therefore they would have more space for fuel and by having more fuel and less weight, they would have a reach greater), having no weapons, it would not have attack damage or defense and would have a speed a little higher than that of an interceptor, between 10% or 15% more speed, it would have a vision range the same as an interceptor, but it would have few points of impact due to the lack of its armor, BUT this unit could only be used at sea (specifically in a seaplane mother), when returning from a mission, this plane would need 10 minutes for the nurse's crane to Seaplanes collect the planes and place them on the launch catapult, and another 30 minutes to refuel the plane.Forum attachment

Although this idea is good in some respects, this pretty much already exists in the game. Just use an interceptor and AC. Both of these units are essentially the same as what is presented here. The devs don't want to overcomplicate the game, and this suggestion does that a bit. :/

If this were to be implemented, it would probably be in the form of only seaplane tenders. They'd have a capacity of 1, or 2 at lvl 3 (max of 3 lvls) and be slow, relatively unarmed, and be cheaper than a carrier, but not as cheap as a destroyer. They would probably have a 20-30 minute recovery time at lvl 1, 15 at lvl 2 and 10 at lvl 3.

I agree with Donk that your suggestion was a tad overcomplicated, but seaplane tenders the way I've described have been requested pretty frequently and I wouldn't mind if Bytro added them to the game.

Honestly, Seaplane Tenders role was absolutely marginal in WW2.

Seaplanes are interesting and had an important role, but one should be able to launch them from cruisers and/or battleships (max : 1 plane/ship).

Honestly that would be ideal, but I think it's unlikely that Bytro would do that, so seaplane tenders would be the next best thing for me
