Ship names
When you produce a ship and then name it, the name is just forgotten, it never appears again in the game. I think an interesting feature would be that you can see the ship name when you select it. Also in the newspaper it would be cool to have the ship name appear in combat reports: "Battleship Gneisenau has been defeated by 34th naval bomber squadron", "Submarine U21 has been destroyed by destroyer HMS Acasta" (these are just examples)

I think they simply forgot it existed, because it was in the classic world at wars. I loved it, had a list of ship names in the fleet details, you could see other player ship names too. Sometimes these could be... not so nice. But I never actually ran into any rudely named ones that I can recall. i'd like to see it return, otherwise, take away the option to name carriers and battleships, its pointless....Tre wrote:

Unit names dont show up anymore because people were giveing offensive names.

I have never seen an offensive/racist/nazist name once in my playing time. Some names were on the edge between humerous and insulting but none were ever that bad.Suna232 wrote:

Soo it was easyer to remove that option then handle tones of reports per day.

Well, I think that they should remove the naming feature if it never shows up again.

if their gonna get rid of it then get rid of it entirely
because it brings back memories of my mighty battle fleets and carriers
IDK I just wish they would get rid of all of it or reinstate it
because I never ran into bad names, but then again I never knew where to look

Actually by the tantrums they take when they are losing, by the unimaginative curse words I'd have been embarrassed to hear in grade 6, and lack of any self control on the battlefield... I'm sure we have plenty of children here.Dolphin3000 wrote:

When it's impossible to underestimate their strategies, when they take every description of their tactics as an insult and they would need to play and actually finish 100 more games before they attain the level of mediocre... yeah.. I'm sure we're playing with plenty of children.
And I for one prefer not to teach children curse words when they barely understand the 4 letter ones.
And I do miss the Battleship names showing up in the WH...

They just added this back. The names showing up in the newspaper was in my last game.

Yes it's back.
Once I played Ethiopia and a player named a BB "F*** Ethiopia."
I took it as a compliment and was just added fun to kill it.
