yeah, I currently haven't had any problems with navy, as I normally play as spain, but I can see this becoming a issue, especially If I chose to have units around gibraltar
ships attacking anything they move across
i find the way ships will attack anything at sea unless they are in right of way or higher labels as a horrible mechanic to the game. i would not want to go through the whole diplomatic list of AIs or people who go inactive to turn them to right of way so i send ships across an ocean. say i wanted to move ships through the strait of Gibraltar but a country has fleets of ships there, if they are AI i have to wait a whole extra day or get pulled into an unwanted war with them if not multiple wars. with the game being real time strategy it just makes for more time spent in a game 90% of people go inactive in that is already gone on for to long. some games can be finished in a short amount of time but some games can last up to months at time depending on maps. i would like the navy to go back to the old way just so it speeds up the time of a game.

The latest patch notes are very unclear as to whether this new mechanic, which I agree is terrible, has been removed or not. Iβll try to confirm it if I get the chance
In the last update a few hours ago, they were supposed to revert the default 'fire at will' (which shot not only at enemies, but also neutral countries) to the old mode of only firing at enemies. I'll also try to confirm this if I get the chance.
UPDATE : can confirm weβre back to the old system of non-aggressive ship travel. Neutral ships wonβt attack eachother, unless given the corresponding order
The bug has been solved after the latest upgrade. All ships travel and attack as before. Happy hunting!
