I was beyond angry to come back to a destroyed fleet of 32 ships. (15 destroyers, 5 subs, 10 cruisers, 2 battleships) because they did not defend themselves as they were attacked by a much smaller fleet while I was no on. they were bombarding a province at the time, and I don't see why if attacked they wouldn't turn their guns and open fire on the enemy ships instead. FIX THIS, It took me forever to make that fleet.
If you have high command you can set how your troops will respond to enemies while you are away. You can switch the fire control of those shipos to agressive and they will attack any enemy in range if if they have move orders. Only an option if you have high command though.
If they have move order fire command works but if they have attack order on a province i don't think fire control works. They will keep bombing that province no matter what, that makes no sense it should be fixed asap. But it is mostly your fault leaving them like that and going offline. You should watch enemy fleets and leave your fleets on safe routes, if you don't have high command they don't even fire back when they are moving so you have to leave them stationary. In my last match i sank at least 70 ships without even taking damage because my enemies were moving them while they are offline or their range wasn't enough if you attack from out of their range they don't respond too. If you ask me it is completely broken and one of biggest problems in this game but you should act depending on how it is until it gets fixed...
