Currently if you select a stationary unit and drag or click march and move mouse the march time doesn't show like it does if unit is already moving. It would be very nice if the march time showed like this for a stationary unit.

Agreed, maybe like using the shift key while you drag so that unit doesn't move but you will still be able to determine the travel time.

It doesn't need to move as it is. option 1. Click unit then click march and move mouse around. Then exit the popup window and no march will occur. option 2. If dragging the mouse, if you put pointer back to the little red point indicating units position no march will start. I would suggest the first option though if there are enemy in immediate proximity, your stack is fighting on defense, or there is a province point very close that you don't want to capture right then.
