Totally agree. Asked for this 2 years ago. Think you should be allowed to name all marine forces. Frustrating thing for me too is this constant numbering change.
Looks like next force produced takes next available number sequentially, then if you group two or more forces one of them loses its number (I think it is the junior force or the one that joined the other one in a movement phase) and of course when a force is destroyed the original number is re-allocated. The loss of number when grouping re-grouping is daft and very irritating. Other wargames from the past just created game like Venn diagrams then on ungrouping retained their original number.
