Ofc you are gonna lose some of ur planes . point is if u lost 1 strategic bomber u probly didnt build more then 10 , that means they are no so great , they need some love from game mods.
Some feedback about units
I've finished several games so i wanna give u some feedback about op units and underpowered units :
Strategically bomber : its the expensive , long time time to produce , weak version of a rocket this unit needs a buff cuz at this current state its a waste of resurces
Naval bomber : useless unit , good just for scouting, they are good vs ships , but any decent stacks of ships will those bombers
cruiser : some bonus dmg against sub is neded
Submarine : Totaly op , act like sea gods , they can beat air , can beat cruisers , battleships , they can even beat destroyers if well played , and if u add the fact that they have lowest upkeep , cost and time required to produce ,
Rockets : Shoud be anti building units , but actualy act as anti everything . if u have troops on ur border , u have 2 minutes to move them if someone attacks u with rockets , and even if u move them with force march u will still be hit by splash dmg. they hit way to hard at max lvl and there is no way to stop them
Tactical bombers : that patrol attack is quite op cuz it makes them incredbly hard to kill specialy if the guy is very active . tacs have no refuel time , if u destroy the airport , tacs will be deployed automatically to another one . they are incredbly mobile , so if u send ur aa , i simply send them somewhere else , u send ur fighters , i send them back , tacs shoud be locked down in a combat like ground units do , u cant run way with ur tanks if u attacked a city full with antitanks , can u ?

What do you propose? You can't build nukes without them so I think they are fine as they are. I wouldn't build many because I like to capture enemy buildings intact.
Strats are good for locations like France vs USA to soften forts/ICs before an invasion (Speaking from one of my Roleplay maps, this is what is being prepared)

Strats are terrible. Probably the most worthless unit in the game. Incredibly situational. Most of the time, you do not want to hurt buildings in enemy cities because you plan to capture them. If an enemy has a bunch of units on a fort, use rockets instead. If they have a fort with few units, then you don't need strat bombers to clear it out.
I disagree that cruisers need to be stronger vs. subs. Historically, they were not, (except maybe in wwi). Same goes for b-ships. Destroyers are the anti-sub naval unit. You must escort your cruisers and b-ships with destroyers, it's what they're there for. That is pretty much their only purpose as a unit.
Naval bombers seem bad because most people spend a lot more time engaging in combat on land vs. on sea. If the opposite was true, naval bombers would be better than Tacs. They just seem less useful because the thing that you use them for isn't used as much as the thing tacs/interceptors are used for. It's not that they're bad at what they do. Besides, they got a big boost when Carriers came out.
Yes, and now with a Pacific Map, even more valuable in huge Naval conflicts.
