Speed is fun gold spammers are not

I basically lose most games because I attack a gold spammer, but after losing the Oktoberfest speed game which I was having a blast playing just because I attacked the wrong person? That's dumb, I ended up attacking the 426th player in the world which wouldn't really matter as I had a stronger army and he was spreading his troops too thin, but of course he uses 20k gold and comes at me with 7 bombers demolishing my tanks infantry artillery and anti-tanks, anti-air was demolished by his tanks and now I lose the game. For special events, gold should not be allowed as it basically ruins the game. I do not think gold should be removed, I do however think that there should be an option that allows gold to be turned off and events should have said feature. I sound like I'm complaining about a loss but I'm really not, I'm complaining about a lot of fun turned into an annoyance.
