Hey there, can you allow player creation of 4x/6x speed rounds? I can feel myself ageing playing the standard games and the speed rounds don’t appear often enough in the round selector, either allow player creation or just a more frequent appearance please? Thank you

Things move fast enough i think its fine as it is
Fast enough? You can’t be serious, just my opinion but each to their own
Brutus, I find them a bit too slow for me too, they’re better than the standard just would like to see the quicker rounds more often, personally
Yes, in speed rounds your whole country can be anhilated once you are asleep, also this has been suggested before and it has been denied.
Haven’t seen it denied anywhere, only thing I have seen is that the servers can’t handle it that well, annihilated in one night? Improve defences, simple
in a 2x speed round i had my best troops on Egypt’s border, he came in with lvl 2 artillery and bombed in while i was gone for like 4 hours. It was all gone, lvl 2 fortifications btw.
improve defences is a terrible excuse . First thing is don’t put your whole bloody army at the border while sleeping , put it back a few provinces with good terrain. Secondly, there is a thing called shoot n scoot . No matter how good your defences are you can be annihilated in a few hours ( for 4x 6x and 8x)GeneralElJeffy wrote:

Only a new player says that about 4+x speed rounds.GeneralElJeffy wrote:

When your weak armies get attacked by strong armies, the strong armies have an exponential advantage and also, as they're stronger, their health percentage and so damage efficiency goes down slower, meaning they get even more advantage over time. What I'm trying to say, is that if you give both players 20 tanks, one has them in one stack of 20 and the other spread out in stacks of for example 5, the stack of 20 will easily get rid of the 5's. So, when you're sleeping in a speed round, nothing is easier than to find and destroy all your exposed small armies with large ones, so you wake up to a 2x stronger enemy and half your provinces captured. If you concentrate to avoid this, they can just go around and take 90% of your country, then you die economically and their army gets strong enough to destroy yours soon.
If they aren't as active or use High Command, it's possible to gain a considerable advantage from it, but you need good planning. You have to cautiously judge which player is likely to attack (consider their diplomatic situation according to news and other sources, investigate their stats, reveal buildings and armies with spies etc). Then, you have to predict what chokepoints they're going to pass and build up a good army at those chokepoints. For example, you can add railroad guns, which have large range and so won't get destroyed by artillery (assuming you escort with a lot of cheap, fair-HP units and, add AA vs. planes).
Them, pro players, just don't put "simple" in relation to "defence".
As I said when I posted, personal preference, yes I am a “new player” but think the pair of you are nothing but condescending people, a lot of people I have players with agree with me and want the same. What is good for you is not good for others, hornet keeper, while I respect your reply and respect the great details. Tgufyru, you’re not the only person who plays the game, other people have perfectness and and different likes/dislikes to yours, you speak like the game revolves around you.
nobody mentioned anything about putting your whole army at the border, this isn’t amateur hour.
True though. We all have only been playing the game for a limited time and have limited experience. I may think I know the exact way the game works, but who knows, maybe I accidentally got that information wrong, remembered it wrong, or it got outdated (perhaps was based on a bug that was fixed).GeneralElJeffy wrote:

But, if you think this way "too much" you cannot basically prove or oppose anything and so, it becomes pointless.
However, I feel like what I know about the game is "right" (basically corresponding to our collective experience, if you want it that way) and, based on those things I know, my mind keeps telling me that you're likely a new player who has succeeded in defence only because he was up against bots or other new players in the 4x, or perhaps hasn't played it at all. Sorry, in my perception of the way the game and its community works, it'd be really unusual for a skilled player to say "Improve defences, simple". Unless you're joking, my perception says that you're new and have never seen real CoW strategy.
The reason your "simple improving defences" doesn't make sense at all to me, is already stated in my previous post. If you don't believe me, you can go to a 4x and try to find a "simple" defending strategy. Perhaps your perception of success is different or my perception of the game is wrong, and you'll find out your strategy is actually good.
But I believe that improving defences is not at all simple. When you understand all the strategy of the game, you won't have problems deducing the best response to any situation, but most players will have problems with the understanding part, so it won't be simple for them.
Improve defences simple, was my sarcasm, clearly it didn’t rub off as i wanted it too, for you again to presume, I only fight bots or other new players is wrong, take on anybody around me, new? Relatively, learning? Quickly. Enjoying a game and made a personal request, clearly you are not a fan of my request, so you wouldn’t have to go along with it if it was made? There’s plenty of other rounds to choose that you could stick with. So again. Each to their own.
if you want a 4x speed game, play conflict of nations. They have a lot there
