This is a strategy game, so it would be nice if that could be made more obvious with some extra features.
Problem:
For example: In one game, I am allied with two countries, and we're planning to attack three countries (which are allied with each other). However, it is difficult to plan who takes which provinces etc. Not everyone is good at geography so 'telling' people via mail is not always an option..
Suggestion:
Make it possible to open some interface/window inside the game called for example 'Strategic Planning', and make it possible to add players to that planning (e.g. your allies, or whoever you want to cooperate with), where you can 'claim' provinces you want to attack (Doesn't mean the other people can't attack them anymore). And then on the normal map, when you go to the bottom-right of the screen and you click on settings, you can (de)select resources, armies, morale etc. Add something like "Strategic Planning" or whatever you like to call it. And if you select that option, you can see which provinces have been claimed by allies/partners.
Extra Suggestions: Add a feature where the person who setup the Strategic Planning can decide how many provinces can be claimed at the same time by one player.
Another problem:
Right now, you cannot have a group conversation in the messages ingame. That means you either have to join an alliance together, or you have to make a Skype chat or whatever.
Suggestion:
Make it possible to create a group conversation. This will allow players to have direct communication as a group.
Right now, I have 2 allies in one of my games, and if I tell them both the same thing, and I get two different answers, then I have to discuss those answers with the other guy, which leads to more complex conversations which end up in disagreements about things the other guy doesn't even know they exist. You get the point: A group conversation would be really handy
Short Summary:
Some way to plan an attack with allies.
Option to have a group conversation in game.

I agree with you but there needs to be more. Do you know how much time it takes to gather information? I have to find who Ally "X" is at war with, and who Ally "Z" is at war with to figure out attack lanes. Not going into mechanics, but Strategic Planning functions should be:
1) Each country has control of the "Strategic Group" functions.
2) Becoming a member of the "Strategic Group" declares war for countries based on what is established. So you would "Trade...Relationship...Strategic Group" which would then add another tab under Diplomacy.
3) Like under espionage (reuse that code) you could assign countries to attack, or enter note of what you may have found out in a recon.
4) Strategic Group messages are subject to spies getting content.

Great idea. Hearts of Iron 3 has something similar. You can open an interface, and you can put arrows of different size and colour all over the place, save the project, and then remove it from view. It would be cool to have something like that, and you could add your allies to it, let them see it and add stuff.
The past is a foreign country.

Yessssssssssss. Please. It would make the new map so much more bearable; I have a Global Trade Federation of 22 people and I have to keep up conversations with every single person, kinda annoying.

perhaps an updated and more efficient diplomacy interface? it is tedious to talk to people via mail and have a conversation with more people, heck i might even need to write everything down to understand such rambled line of communications.
