submairne deck guns

Most submarines in world war 2 had anti aircraft guns and larger caliber deck guns. These deck guns where used to finish off large ships. There were also used to bomb bard the land. Some submarines also had the ability to launch aircraft off steam catapults. I would like to have some of this stuff in the game. Mainly the deck guns.

They already have the deck guns in, just look at the AA capability. The aircraft would be pointless, not enough to form a squadron so it would be really weak.

Why not an barbecue grill on the deck?

The water would ruin it.

The butter just had to be salted ;)

Can someone provide a historical account of a Sub providing naval arty? In all honestly, in all my years of researching WW2, have never read an account of a Sub firing its defensive guns at a land based target.

And few Subs had aircraft, a huge Jap sub did (it had three, the subs got deployed but the war ended before they got used) and if anything, the aircraft was for scouting.

Eh, there is one account of subs attacking land targets. One time a Jap sub sailed up to American coast started firing on it with it's howitzer, doing little to no damage. I don't think it should be implemented.

So nothing really worth mentioning?

I agree. Don't implement it.

The purpose of subs never was coast bombarment.

Deck gu was used against ships to save torpedoes. Everytime the sub captain could, he used the deck gun instead of torpedoes.

Then you already have your "deck guns" because the attack power of subs reflect theyr hability to deaul damage to ships, no matter the weapon used.

See? Subs are subs. Lets leave subs alone. They work fine.
