Submarines

Submarines, one of my favorite units. Im watching crimson tides right now, and also hunting @Ellio_98s submarines, off my coast :)

So ever since this nerf a while back, it has been bothering me, not only cos the unit was over over Nerfed. I think the only thing I would have liked to have seen nerfed, is their AA. But what really happened, was everything else was nerfed, to my dismay.

So we have poll

Would you like to see Subs return to previous stats

Would you like to see Subs Keep Current Stats

Would you like to see Subs return to previous Stats but Nerf AA

Would you like to see Subs Keep Current Stats but Nerf AA

It doesn't really bother me much, it seems to have balanced sub spam.

Nerfing their AA defense would be ok, and making them a bit stronger against ships would be nice. Not necessary, but nice. For me. Because I like subs. And I build subs. All the time. Don't tell that to anyone.

I have learnt that first hand hehe

Yes AA nerfed a bit, and increasing their Ships, which can be done returning to previous stats.

Off top of my head, they cut ship abilities by 25per cent

I'd like to see the ol' subs go back to being the terror of the sea.

I agree, but make naval bombers more effective, by lowering the subs AA..

Submarine spam? Now it is nothing but Destroyer spam now. The whole game can't exactly be balanced right naval wise, it is just Supremacy 1914 with a new UI slapped on it. Expecting more diverse gameplay would involve a complete reworking of the core of the game.

I would prefer somewhat of a return to the previous statistics. But it honestly doesn't matter.

---A.A statistics are fine as they are.

I would far more prefer that the Sub-Convoy bug be fixed. As well as Sub passing through other units bug. (It affects other units, but Subs the most, and has been in this game for over a year now.) - Units passing over subs, the subs not engaging into combat but being attacked bug. Essentially, understand how one sided this game is. And it is very unlikely for the core model to be changed. But it would be nice that these year old plus bugs(And in some cases, since code was just copied over from SP1914, several year old bugs), would be fixed, so that this game would be a tad less broken. Case in point, fix the Sub bugs before adjusting the statistics.

I somewhat agree, the my subs are just getting attacked for passing under units, and it gets very very frustrating.

Id rather see them fixed, before they fix the stats okay fair enough

But I still think, that AA sats outta be lowered, and them be unnerfed

Speaking of bugs, I landed some planes at an AB that was near a port. This port had an enemy sub that I could see from a "reveal". When the planes landed they "attacked" the sub. They could do no damage to the sub and were unable to fly away, but the sub could damage them.

Who spams destroyers?

The destroyers are effective units, perhaps any country having to fight a large fleet of submarines, use the spam of destroyers.

Yeah, but you need naval bombers to detect them.
The past is a foreign country.

Just plant 'em at choke points and attack them to convoys, job done. I would think one would put CV with DD too to transport planes abroad.

Of course.

Again, I think subs AA need to be nerfed..

Nah, in WW2, any sub on the surface was a sitting duck for aircraft.

The submarines were eliminated mainly by the naval bombers,in addition, allied submarines were ineffective against the german submarines.

I know, that is why I said, because I am in favour of the comment made by Pablo.

So you do want AA nerfed, cos as it is, the aircraft take major hits.
