Suggestion: Add a Seasonal Bonus System to Call of War
Hello Bytro team!
I would like to suggest adding a seasonal bonus system to the existing four doctrines: Comintern, Pan-Asian, Axis, and Allies.
The idea is to make each doctrine stronger during its preferred season and weaker during its least favorable season. This would add another layer of strategy without introducing any new doctrines.
Proposed Seasonal Bonuses
Comintern
Winter: +10% attack and defense.
Summer: −5% combat effectiveness and movement speed.
Pan-Asian
Summer: +10% attack and movement speed.
Winter: −5% combat effectiveness and movement speed.
Axis
Spring: +10% attack and movement speed.
Winter: −5% attack and movement speed.
Allies
Autumn: +10% attack and supply efficiency.
Summer: −5% movement speed and supply efficiency.
These percentages are initial suggestions and could be adjusted for game balance.
How It Would Work
The world would follow a shared four-season cycle: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
Each doctrine would receive its seasonal bonuses and penalties automatically.
The system would apply to existing units, so no new units or doctrines would be required.
Seasonal changes would encourage players to plan offensives, defensive operations, and supply management around the calendar.
For example, a Comintern player might plan a major offensive during winter, while a Pan-Asian player might prefer launching an offensive during summer.
Why This Would Be a Good Addition
This system would make long wars more dynamic. The balance of power could change as the seasons change, forcing players to adapt their strategies instead of relying on the same tactics throughout an entire match.
It would also give each doctrine more personality and create new strategic decisions without fundamentally changing the core gameplay.
I believe this could be an interesting addition to Call of War. Thank you for considering my suggestion!
