Suggestion: Change for Rockets / Rocket Interceptors

Greetings!

After looking at the research screen for the Rocket and Rocket Interceptor technologies, the Rocket Interceptor doesn't become researched or made available to the players until after the second (Lv. 2) Rocket research gets finished.

By the time production starts for Rocket Interceptors, its likely for players to not need it, as enemies will probably compete by researching it themselves further along on the techtree, or not have it researched yet to begin with, making the Rocket Interceptor a seldom used feature.

What can be done to solve this problem?

- Change the research time for Rocket Interceptor to be finished sooner.

or

- Change the research time for Rocket (research level two) to more later.

Here is a screenshot below of the research screen.

This is just silly, some units are good, some are bad. This unit does not need to be made easier to get. Just because someone else has something doesn't mean you need to get it too. The only thing I see as useful for the rocket int is for attacking A-bombers. It could get to the strip and to the bomber fairly sharpish, especially with a lvl 3 strip. Not sure how well it would do but I imagine it would be fine.

In reality the rocket interceptor wasn't exactly an overwhelming success...and it did come fairly late on....

Just because the V1 becomes available on day 8 doesn't mean the interceptor should, they have very little commonality.

I think your problem is not clear. Not to me, and looking at previous reactions, not to others either.

A rocket interceptor is not an interceptor of rockets. Its just like a regular interceptor, but with high attack and short range.

Why is it relevant if others players research it? And how would getting it easier/earlier solve this?

What if I'm indoctrinated and actually fighting the good guys?

This is actually very true. The first Rocket Interceptor was spotted in 1945 on America's first bombing run in Berlin.

Not so.

The Me 163 Komet first saw combat action on may 13, 1944 (near Oldenburg).

The first bombing of Berlin by the US was on march 4, 1944.

'44 is still pretty late.

It is perfectly fine as it is. It is not a good unit unless you give it a ridiculous range. Making it available sooner will do nothing except make it more unrealistic.

As it is, the rocket interceptor is a potent auxiliary anti-aircraft unit.

It fills the same role as the nuclear units: Although better, lower numbers necessitate combined arms useage.

It's an extremely good interceptor unit for the day it comes out, taking 4 days before it's defensive AA value is matched, and having the highest offensive AA value in the game.

It's low range and high fuel consumption are it's limiting factors.

All in all it's a good specialised local air superiority unit.
