Having infantry right off the bat sounds pretty good, it only takes 1 minute 30 seconds anyways.
Suggestion: Research Realism
I am all for the research tree, as we know war breeds invention, but... somethings are slightly askew....
Humans have had 'infantry' of one form or another since before we were 'Human'.
The world has had 'artillery' for at least 2000 years.
Most modern countries had 'armored vehicles' and 'fighter planes' since WWI
... and this all was prior to WWII (which this game emulates).
Optional suggestion one: Make; Militia, Infantry, Armored Car, and Fighters available to build at start.
Alternative suggestion one: Make any two of these available (randomly) to each country at start.
Optional suggestion two: (And a headache for the graphics people) Give all level 1 unit icons, avatars, etc. (excluding rockets, naval, anti-air, and nuclear - of course) the appearance of their WWI equivalent. (It's an aesthetic suggestion I know.)

Fighters at the beginning NO. Then the player will build a lot of them and be destroying other countries until Anti-Air comes out
The player who would be building a lot of them would be quickly overrun by land forces that others would be building... fighters are near powerless against ground targets.Nickm wrote:

And if everyone had the same capacity for fighter building, you hardly have an argument for game imbalance.
