Supply Lines
In my unbelievable perfectly professional thought out opinion, this game need some kind of supply line.
The Idea:
All countries have a capital, the supply lines goes from the capital to the units at the battlefields. Without a capital you can not have a supply line, supply lines can not go through enemy territory, but it can go over water although you will need a dock to take the supplies.
You do NOT need ANY FACTORIES to create the supplies, you always have it but you need to have a clear path to your units.
What happens if you do not have supplies for the units?
If somehow your path to the frontline units or any other units is blocked by enemies or something else (like not having a dock to an island) your units will decrease its speed, attack and defense, and the provinces that are blocked will slowly lose morale.
Why should this be implemented?
This should be implemented to the game to allow players to encircle their enemies and make their units weaker and cut of the supplies of an enemy. It also gives players another reason to bomb docks.

Yeah maybe, but it gives people more options to win against a much stronger country. That is how Germany won against France.XXpheonix wrote:

I dont think each nation was a Russian Empire, Rss can come from nearest Urban province.

Thats what I suggested earlier. I wanted encriclements too. Operation Barberossa was insanely successful because of the amount of troops that the Germans were able to encircle.
Maybe air supplies too.

I indeed believe a "simplified" supply system [can the unit trace every new day a supply line to ANY core province [through ports level 3 or more if needed] would add a lot by allowing encirclement and what not.
Can you make the supply lines chain from a major city?
CORE major city - yes would work as well.
Some people enjoy to continue playing even if their core is lost, setting up shop somewhere else... requiring supply from the core would mean they are automatically out of supply. I think the capital is a better supply source, since ti can be moved.
There's a problem with naval invasions in this suggestion, because you (usually) don't have the time to build a dock before supply is checked. I'd say any coastal province might be a viable path of supply, UNLESS the adjacent see dot(s) was occupied by enemy warships.
Core city + capitol then ? You don't want Vladivostok cut because XJ did a push North through Siberia. And yes, your adjustement for naval invasion would be OK for me.K.Rokossovski wrote:

Well its kind of annoying in historical. Especially, when fighting UK and France. Once you have defeated them. You will have to spend days or weeks to clear out the remaining territory that they have.K.Rokossovski wrote:

Not successful enough to reach the A-A line...vietcong2005 wrote:

the supplies should come from the resource province not the capital bc capiol can be taken over (and im nlot sure if you can destroy capitlal buildings but if you can then tere would be rocket spam too) also if supplies can't reach troops they dont meet upkeep and lose morale not speed.. good idea though. also it would bee cool if the supply transports converted between truck plane and ship.
It still played a huge role. The Germans wouldn't have gotten as far if it wasn't due to encirclements.RBoi200 wrote:

I think that supply lines should be related to contiguos territory, as in fact, that did happen. Also it wouldn't require too much of a change. In that way, wearing down an unit due to encirclement could work, but also it wouldn't be deterministic (as the Eastern front was). Love the idea of supply lanes, but today's game is kinda struggling with the modifications made to allow it to make such a huge change. Supply lanes would completely change the military and economic balance, and, although it's true they did, they did depend on actually economic prosperity.
In my opinion, it would make the game too complex
No. The reason that gold players are able to take advantage is that they're able to spam troops. Making it impossible to defeat them. If there were encirclements you would actually stand a chance
always would like new avenues where skill will be rewarded... but what about exploitation of such a feature?? whatt if it has unforseen consequences
