Supply Lines

i have been thinking that the HWW would be way more historically accurate if we had supply lines. Especially for overseas battles. When you are figthing too far from your home country (like islands accross the oceans etc.) you must ensure a decent supply line to sustain your fight and if your enemy attacks your convoys sucssesfully then your troops must suffer important amount of penalty like slowing down, fighthing less effective, losing some health. So you would need a strong navy to protect your supply line thus sustain fighthing overseas. Same goes for fighting mountainous or cold terrains with minor changes. This would be sooo good if integrated in a game because 5 divisions sent by İndia to South Africa for example, must not be able to be an effective force if İndian economy is bad and South African subs intercepting indian convoys. Also no matter how strong your navy is you must face minor penalties if you are fighthing so far away from your home.

İ think that would be great, even a for minor supply line vulnerable to enemy attacks would make a GREAT change

Not to be exceptionally rude but here we go AGAIN, another suggestion for supply lines. Needless to say this idea is not new nor would it add anything to the game. Before making suggestion that you think are needed additions to the game do a search in the forums for that idea, tbh you are not the first person that has come up with the idea for x unit, y building or z improvements. Just to give you an idea of how long range invasions worked during WWII and how it really did not affect the action on the ground. Just look at Operation Torch, the US/UK invasion of North Africa, some of the US units that took part LAUNCHED from the US and crossed the Atlantic Ocean without interference from the German Uboats operating in the Mid Atlantic Gap.

"Strategy is the art of making use of time and space. I am less concerned about the later than the former. Space we can recover, lost time never." ~ Napoleon Bonaparte
"Anyone who has to fight, even with the most modern weapons, against an enemy in complete command of the air, fights like a savage against modern European troops, under the same handicaps and with the same chances of success." ~ Erwin Rommel

It just complicates things however if I was to do it I would just add trucks, this game is similar in concept to an extinct game called war2glory, troops had to have a certain amount of fuel to make it to the objective, if they didn't have sufficient capacity you had to add trucks to extend the range. In this game you have unlimited fuel once the units are built (but a certain amount is consumed daily). Of course the truck is a key element in modern ground warfare (just ask the Russians)

Could we adjust daily upkeep values based on distance to capitol, similarly to the effect on morale? This would simulate the increased difficulty in supplying a spread-out army without introducing new units or complex mechanics.

I am also affirmative to the introduction of the supply line too.

I am glad if all units was connected to the Headquarters unit with several types of lines, and the constraints imposed on the unit changed depending on the type of line that was cut.
