The search of the lost map

Greetings Generals,

We believe that all the maps provide diversity to the game. These different maps allow us to see and play in different scenarios, fight different enemies in different places, a whole new strategy to follow in each map. That's why we need you now!

We know that the amount of possible WWII scenarios or related events can reach to create a new map, where all the community could have fun playing.

We are thinking of different possible scenarios that could be very interesting to play with an individual, team or role approach, but, we would like to hear your proposals and ideas.

On Thursday July 21st 2016, we will open a poll with the differents scenarios that have arisen in the different Call of War communities and then see the most voted(favoured) scenario/idea. That map will be made by the Support Team and sent to Bytro for its analysis and its possible introduction to the game.

To offer your idea, you must post it here, so it will be visible for the rest of the players. Because we think there will be many ideas and proposals and taking in count that polls can just have 20 options, we will use an external website to make the poll and thus also will collect all the votes in a same place and will be easier for all of us to follow the results of the poll.

We hope you are as excited as we are with this project.

Let your imagination flow like your knowledge about history and surprise us with your ideas.

Your Call of War Team.

I'm still sticking to my Torus World (Donut World) and Polar World (North Pole World) concepts. But, I've thought about the round map...

In order to accommodate the stretched aspect of a wildly-configured projection map (like a polar map), the outer edges (especially sea lanes) would need to allow for faster travel (to better-reflect realism). Now, that idea hasn't been implemented and I suspect the folks at Bytro might not have been able to conceive of this solution:

I think the idea of "speed lanes" could fix this. It may be a necessary additional programming aspect of the game that would require a core programming update, but the speed of units as they move along a path could have an additional element added that would query the path that they are on (when in motion). If the path set as "normal", the speed is unaffected by the path (though it IS affected by the province (terrain, ownership) if on land). But, if the path is "speed_adjusted", then the unit's speed would be adjusted (by percentage) up or down.

Perhaps there could be different levels of speed adjustments (i.e., adjustment multiplier "ticks" set at 0.5, 0.9, 1.3, 1.7, 2.1, 2.5 respectively) which would then be used on the current speed of the unit in transit. The varying ticks would prevent shortcuts from being sought by players trying to hug the innermost speed lanes to sneak around the outermost regular speed lanes. To keep from over-complicating things, perhaps air units (in flight) would not be affected.

************************************************************************************************************************************************

In addition to the above polar and torus maps, this upper-northern projection map (posted previously, also) might be able to be gotten away with not having speed lanes, but the edges might need to be trimmed to have less ocean. This is my proposed Eurocentric Arctic World Map.

************************************************************************************************************************************************

The whole point of adding these polar view (and torus) maps is to change the ocean dynamics for travel between continents. Let's have an arctic war. Let's have a Torus war (north and south map edges connect while Antarctica doesn't exist).

It seemed like such a waste to destroy an entire battle station just to eliminate one man. But Charlie knew that it was the only way to ensure the absolute and total destruction of Quasi-duck, once and for all.

Hahahahahaha! Ok, maybe not the bigger the better. But bigger than a 2 vs 2.

Yeah, thing is, around which continent should it be centered on?

Taking the idea from the blitz we could have a map of Europe in 1944 a few days after D-day. And you could also do a Operation Barbarossa map in 1941.

Okay that might be good but the would need to sort out the capital morale system otherwise Eastern Russia would be in revolution

Yeah, that has needed fixing since ages ago.

@Pablo22510 is right, we need a historical world map, with prop boarders and as I said a blitz verson would be great

they are needed first, not another map of Europe, we have 4 Euro maps, that enough until we at least get the full world map.. Although I love the current style world map, I still would like a world map with actual boarders

We''ll see in the poll what do people think :P

It is your opinion.

What about Cold-war? West and East Germany, North and South Korea, you can split the U.S.S.R into the Soviet Republics as well to prevent it from being too powerful. China could be split up by regions again and the United States by States. But smaller countries could be historically correct like North/South Korea, North/South Vietnam, Rebel/Soviet Afghanistan?
I'd like to see a map like this!
same here and we should have a whole aisan map where the korean war and the vietnam war and then have a europe cold war operation unthinkable map

I'd like to see, as many others have suggested, a cold war map with more advanced tech levels. East v West Germany.

Many of you are thinking large maps, I hate the HUGE maps. Most of the matches on 100 or 50 maps are usually terrible.

Another 10 player map would be awesome, preferably starting with better units and a few weeks into it allowing us to jump straight into the cold war.

At least then I could go to bed and not have to worry about waking up to find enemy bombers wasting half my army while I sleep.

My polar map ideas would either be centered over north pole or else over Bytro (Germany). I'm an American and I'm totally fine with looking at a map with USA turned cockeyed to get this.

Now, a cold war polar map would better be turned so that USA is on the bottom and USSR is upside down (all communists are upside down, if you think about it). That could also be useful in putting together a nuclear war scenario (heavy on the nukes).

The Bytro Blitz Map would best be served as a polar-projection-ish map (the last pic from my last big post) but centered over Germany, not the north pole. I've argued that this map would not need to have "speedlanes" implemented, thus it could be an easier map to release sooner.

A smaller USS/USSR map (i.e., 10 players) could be more focused on the pole with just USA/USSR/Europe showing and little else being close enough to the map center to show. This map might be more fun with no polar ice.

These ideas are so awesome, that thousands of girls have been lining up outside my door just to tell me how much I've changed their lives and how they'd like me to sweep them off their feet. I just don't know what I'm going to do with all of them. :D

You forget the new addition to the secret tech branch - wormholes

Oh, and Borg Cubes

African colonial map from 1939 (solely Africa or Africa + southern Arabia)

To be played either as a standard game (each colony/country independent of each other)

OR as

An alliance 'type' game where the colonies of EACH individual European power are allied at start (i.e. all British colonies together, all French colonies allied, etc.)

Including accurate 'small' colony 'cities' would be a plus.
