The "Update" is useless as hell

Did yall see the YT video? That thing was as low quality as school-provided supplies. The audio was as good as speaking through a vent with 5 fans, and the 2 people looked high as hell.

Then, these people have the audacity to make a big deal about something for one week only to make it the most miserable, insignificant, most useless update in the history of Call of War.

And not only that, the two people in the YT video were stupid! Why the hell would they need those big ass no-brand headphones with thick ass microphones when they're right next to each other?! No need for such things when you can speak normally, they only made them look more stupid than they already are. And they were more than clearly going off a teleprompter. You can see the light in their eyes and it looks like they're reading off a script. NOBODY asked the questions they were stating in the video. And to make it worse, that thing was pre-recorded as hell.

They could have reverted every hated change they have made for the past 5 months. They could have addressed the recent issues with the servers crashing. They could have addressed the issues with the game being severely laggy at times. THEY FAILED TO ADDRESS THE FACT THAT THE COMMUNITY HAS BEEN BEGGING FOR LESS P2W FOR THE PAST 5 MONTHS. They failed to justify all of their actions. And yet, they think that feeding us a pre-recorded as hell, low-quality, cheap ass video on YouTube and wherever else they said they were, would compensate for 5 months of ignorance, Idiocracy and issues with the game.

Shame on the Bytro people for being a bunch of crooked, little dirty wishy washy greedy ass ignorants. They should check the facts and listen to the community, not ignore the facts and listen to their, disgustingly greedy, hearts...

Yeah the update was bullsh*t. They didn't even fix player search.

If we come to a minefield, our infantry attacks exactly as it were not there - Georgy Zhukov

The player search is broken, the servers are slower than a grandma on a hot Florida day on the beach, the game is unbalanced as hell, the prices are unbalanced, everything is p2w and Bytro proceeds to make the most useless update in Call of War history...

Exactly the update was shit

What happened?

The Youtube Audio was screwed up in the first half, on Twitch everything sounded nice from the beginning. But the YT audio was noticed and rectified halway through (it was a live stream).

It also was not meant to be a game update, nothing was released that day. So I think this survey is based on a misunderstanding. It was more of an announcement stream. So the things that got announced were:

- Bytro and Dorado (which already worked together in many areas) are merging companies. The new company is called Twin Harbour Interactive. This new company will work even more closely together in developing and maintaining the games. This unlocks synergy effects and makes working on the games more efficient.

- Supremacy 1914, Call of War and Conflict of Nations all get merged into one Franchise/Brand: "Supremacy" (think of the Total War Franchise, but ours is called Supremacy). So from now on our style of games will be known as Supremacy games.

- The games got renamed accordingly and are now named Supremacy: 1914, Supremacy: Call of War 1914 and Supremacy: World War 3

- There will be a new Hub playsupremacy.com where all 3 games can be accessed (your existing CoW account works in each of the games already)

- There were teasers for each game about new content which might be released in the future. For CoW, it was teased that the team is looking into an adaptation of the Heroes/Generals feature.

- It was teased that a new game is in development and that you will hear about it soon.

Oh and this week there was a "real" game update. A brand new Event map is coming out, see news post.

But the quality isn't my main concern.

The fact that the video was pre-recorded as hell, the people there looked unaware of their surroundings and were clearly going off a teleprompter, and these updates aren't even what people wanted. The only good thing coming out of this is a new map.

I answered this already, it was a livestream and not pre-recorded, I can personally vouch for this. No matter how pre-recorded it looked in your mind. If quality is not your main concern why do you keep ranting about how the stream was conducted? :D if you want to talk about the game then talk about the game and not about that stream.

And again, this was not a video about a new game update. This was a stream about announcing future developments that will affect the game. Nothing announced in that stream was yet released (besides the new logos) because it is still in the works. This was just to inform players about what will be happening. Pro-active communication and such, you know. So talking about a "game update" in regards to that video is already the wrong approach.

Warbonds are still there tho? Probably you mean the cap. The Warbonds cap was actually a popular community suggestion when we introduced warbonds. Colors are subjective as well, I have seen positive feedback about the map look as well. You see, for everything you don't like there is someone who likes it. We can't please everyone. Yeah not all changes are popular (goods/rare mats), surely there are more people who disliked that change. But it was made with good intentions for the longevity of the game, and I guess now everyone got used to it anyway. If we changed it again we would see similar complaints. In general, change is just a hard thing to overcome for people.

We do NOT like war bonds, only rare materials and goods and the old colors

No no freezy, I mean the cap. What if I don't want to use them and save them for a tragedy? If there is a reason other than players are shit I would like too know.

the reason is because players were AFKing for 5, 6, 7 or more days just getting a big stash of WBs, then they suddenly returned and spammed unlike anything ever seen before and take over everything

oh hey freezy since you’re here: with the break of games into each of its own infrastructure will that help you guys with the glitches and strange weird stuff that sometimes happen.

I’ve heard that cow’s code is so spaghettied that doing anything at all is not easy.

And? Players still go AFK now at the same rate. I was checking the cap and pre-cap stats. I used CoN because it has players that aren't brand new, but also not sweats who never quit. Heres what I found:

Pre-Cap: Around 6-7 people went AFK each round (not counting people who quit cause their country was demolished).

Final stat: 6.6 average

Post- Cap: Still 6-7 but leaning to seven (not counting people who quit cause their country was demolished).

Final stat: 6.8

Would you say that the variation in the amount of players that go inactive before and after the cap occured purely by chance?

And first off, where did you get this data from?

And second, from personal experience, players are much more active after the cap. And even from other people I asked about this said that before the cap almost every server went dead by day 3 almost entirely. After the cap, players were active again.

Well you probably don't know I delete my accounts every 2 months so I can play with high command. So in one of these times I played 26 games before and after the cap.

Yes it helps to reduce side effects from changes in other games. In the past a change in Supremacy 1914 could easily have side effects in Call of War due to the shared codebase. Does not mean that there won't be any more bugs tho, but hopefully less.

One last thing. Come on fix the sub play.subs are not melee!! Just yesterday I lost a sub to a 10 stack of EMBARKING mech inf. That ain’t right! I’m not saying one sub should get them all but I shouldn’t lose a sub. I’ve lost Star subs to trans ports.

The whole sub thing is rubbish. Subs could be interesting but they make them in game as if they are slow moving stealth destroyers not sub-marines (under the water get it).

They should use some of the concepts from both paras (concept of conversion) and hit point health.

Subs should have the ability to submerge but their speed would be very slow, as it should be. However the view range of surface ships would need to be adjusted if the sub was on the surface, to account for low silhouette. The default position would be subs on the surface but would submerge if either an aircraft appeared or a surface ship. Or if by design i.e ordered by player. They would have a battery endurance calculator similar to morale/health and when this got low you would have to surface or sink to the bottom. Gives you say a maximum of 36hrs under water. But speed at that is v v slow, like a demented militia. All could be made to work. Subs when submerged could only be attacked by destroyers/planes.

A bit of work but much more rewarding. All this data is freely available.
