Too much time

I am sure that this has been discussed at great length, But I believe that the time span is too slow in this game. There is a serious problem of players going inactive. The simplest and most common reason for this is boredom. Once you have started building and researching, all you can do is wait 12 hrs for another activity. If you cut all times by 3, it would be more engaging and people would be more entertained. I have noticed the same problem, as I have been getting bored as well. I hope that this issue is taken seriously, as it would be a MUCH desired improvement to the game.

What it does is boil down the game to find the real players not the CoD casual players. This has been raised before especially on S1914 so the Devs shortened the game by several hours.

British=best. Duh!

I recall suggestions on the S1914 forum to create a new 'quick game' type when setting up the round. Personally I like the slow pace the game has. There are plenty of fast pace RTS games to play where a round can be over in 10 minutes or drag on for an hour or two.

The slow speed of this game and its family demands you to be thoughtful as you can't have units zipping around the map but Minimer, you specifically mentioned research times. I think that the time it takes to unlock the tech reflects the overall slow pace and indeed needs to. I shouldn't be able to tech up from armored cars to heavy tanks while on the march from Paris to Berlin.

Is there truly enough demand from the player base to warrant a change across the board? If anything, I would suggest a 'quick game' type but would rather see the devs polish what we already have first.
