I haven't played for a few months so this post may be irrelevant.
Not being able to trade unless you are in a coalition sucks.Being able to trade with other players helps form alliances in game.Smaller countries rely on trade and the larger countries will usually have a surplus.

that's right, as a side comment, not being able to transfer military units also sucks, I also had the habit of negotiating as a neutral country the purchase / sale of units with other countries, that is over.
