Trade Routes
I believe they should add trade routes factors into the maps. This would give nations that control high travel routes, such as the Panama Canal, Suez Canal, the Strait of Gibraltar, the Silk Road and other trading hubs, an economic boost in their resources, due to their control of trade in the area. This would also include major trade cities, such as Singapore and New York. Although maybe will believe this could give an unfair advantage to certain countries, this would overall improve the realism of the game, and would make patrols of sea trade routes much more crucial to maintaining a nations economic power

Well yea u can control themQuasi-duck wrote:
Or you could just, you know, position them there. It would just be a HC feature anyway.oceanhawk wrote:

yes a feature, but not for HC
this something that should be for all

"I came, I saw, I conquered" Written in a report to Rome 47 B.C., after conquering Pharnaces at Zela in Asia Minor in just five days; as quoted in Life of Caesar by Plutarch; reported to have been inscribed on one of the decorated wagons in the Pontic triumph, in Lives of the Twelve Caesars, Julius, by Suetonius.
"Alea iacta est" Gaius Julius Caesar.
You can't. I can lock down the Med with three ships (albeit that is a poor blockade) as the game is.oceanhawk wrote:

It would end up being HC though.oceanhawk wrote:

Maybe, trade routes have large bonuses, but if one of the areas that links the trade route together (naval base, resource province, etc.), they capturer gets a supplies "plundered" from the trade route. Kind of like capturing a capital.

Attack rapidly, ruthlessly, viciously, without rest, however tired and hungry you may be, the enemy will be more tired, more hungry. Keep punching.
-George S. Patton
How come some of the trade gets through? A simple chain is all you need to shut down the Suez. Or mines. Mines are good. Maybe some coastal guns and aerial presence too? Subs patrolling the length of it? It is awfully easy to shut down narrow straits.Kehsct wrote:

well u can pass ships stationed at the canal,
if u at peace, they just go through
that needs to change...
Id be in favor of Fire control for non HC players

The devs wouldn't be. HC has few enough features as is.oceanhawk wrote:

I guess so.. but that is just something that needs to be for allQuasi-duck wrote:

I stopped playing a different game because of the money scams imposed by their devs... and then I found CoW, and that really made me leave there
prefer here, just think that that should be for all even
but yes more features for HC. but some just need to be for all

The devs can't make money then. No money > no game. Bytro Labs is a business, not a charity.oceanhawk wrote:

So you'd use up that much to just slow down some trade? Most players wouldn't bother with that. I haven't even seen that many people use subs or aircraft. Maybe the trade routes could come with an escort, but you'd have to pay for how large or small it is. Those units wouldn't be able to do anything else.Quasi-duck wrote:

That is what you use in real life. Also, if you don't see players use subs or aircraft that much, you must get hammered so bad so fast that you can't even see the enemy.Kehsct wrote:

True. I don't use aircraft myself, except when I really need them for patrolling and stuff (AA rate of units if WAY too high), but even noobs use subs.Quasi-duck wrote:

A. I use destroyers in every single one of my fleets (except when I'm getting rid of obsolete BBs or ACs), B. I am starting to see aircraft a bit more, but never in force. I've only seen it used by players who are one of the biggest people on the map, and C. This is a game. Not real life.Quasi-duck wrote:

Yes, I have seen noobs use subs, but I'm not into them much myself or have seen them used by many non-noobs. Maybe I'll change my mind if a third research slot is added.Pablo22510 wrote:

One of my buddies has an air force of ~38 or so TB. One time he took over all of Spain with nothing but BB and TB. Except for actually capturing the provinces, of course.Kehsct wrote:

That has not been one of my experiences. I don't think I've seen anyone above my level yet.Quasi-duck wrote:

Lol, my buddy is 54! Give TB a shot, they will have total dominance if what you say is true.Kehsct wrote:
