Trading & Market System - 10% Before I Sell???

Team Bytro, thanks for all the work you are doing on CoW.

Except that is for the latest change to the trading system - that is - when I want to sell my resources, I have to PAY 10% of the potential value when I list them and BEFORE even sell them.

C'mon guys think this through - I am selling resources to MAKE some cash. What if I have no cash - I have no option but to take whatever price is offered. What do I do if no buyers have made an offer to buy my resources? And I have no cash I cant sell anything quick to raise cash.

This is the most frustrating thing you guys have tweaked yet. Nerfed the trading system with this one innocuous change.

I'm begging you - change it back.

Thank you.

So for real, no moderators, no developers have anything to say about this?
Just because you skipped 4 months of discussion doesn't mean there is no answer. ;)
I left in protest but fair enough Vorlon. I see the answer. Bytro doesnt care, the implementation was happening regardless of how brilliant the solutions provided by atreas, hans or pontus and others were.

3 months prior during BETA and 2.5 months ago, technically discussion was had until 20 days ago (more pleading and begging) to not implement the market changes due to the detrimental effect of trade and diplomacy. Amazing solutions offered that were easier to implement and catch the supposed "criminals" using the "cheats" this was supposed to stop.

Now it is "balancing". Balancing what? Game mechanics. What Game mechanics??

Is it crazy that after coming back the first thing I see is how messed up the market is? Isn't that an exact reflection for what everyone was saying?? Until I read that entire thread (3 hours later) which I would never have done if not challenged, do I find out more changes I dont like that they mentioned countless times, even in Beta.

Wow I think I was right earlier. I came back too soon, in my absence, in protest to how things were being changed before, someone decided to break more items.

If I hadnt already typed the next part before I read the Market Overhaul novel I wouldnt have bothered with a solution to the market place, since now I see that isnt the reason for the change anyway.

Well I am likely wasting my breath:

Market BUG** First the market no longer recognizes my amount of goods nor the amount being sold and when I move slider to buy all it is not buying all...

Suggestion:

What about changing it to a sliding scale since the concern is positioning mass cash or items in the market. Why not slide the scale of cost on a 5k increment total in the market and implement that cost IF they cancel those positions with a WARNING pop up prior to canceling the order for real.

THAT solves the problem #1 - hiding all your goods

That #2 doesnt destroy first initial trading or long term trading when every material counts and costs starting players dearly on a mistake.

Selling or buying 5000 units or less no cost.

Buying an already posted trade under 5000 no cost to buyer or seller

Posting 5001 - 10000 materials 1% cost to sell and buy, pop up notification of 1% cost to remove

Multiple of $5 for cash $25,001 - $50,000

Posting 10,001 - 15000 materials 2% cost to post notification of 2% cost to remove

Multiple of $5 for cash $50,001 - $75,000

So on and so forth up to 10% and 10% or higher.

That should be some fairly simple if/and/or statements.

20% is brutal and severely hampers early game play

Trade with all parties increases the amount of trades available and should be a given unless your at war/blockading.

** All written before I read the exact notification you already received months ago.

*** Bytro response - too bad, some people will suffer, get over it.

Part of me feels like quitting the game I started and go back to Hearts of Iron 3

Part of me wants to begrudgingly trudge to the issue I had last time and see if it was fixed.

Hell, maybe I can cut to the chase, maybe someone knows, was the air bug fixed, the one with the overlays, where you had to be on the smallest tac bomber circle to get the tac bombers to work when stacked with other plane types?

Since its been 4 months. I assume that was corrected?

This way I can quit or suffer through and see if my old playing style was still enjoyable.

There is currently a Quite long -- Market Overhaul -- LINK -- thread already in play...

And Market TAX is NOT 10%

it's 10% at moment of Listing, and ANOTHER 10% the other party as well at moment of fulfillment.

So it's actually Market TAX is 20%.

...and congratulations to those of you who just realized what it feels like to get funked with your pants on!

Silly taxes and trade restrictions are killing this wonderful game! ...

Yep just misplaced a bid trying to outbid the current leader for Iron and I bid the same price which means i fill second, I can take it off the market losing the 10% already paid for a clerical typo THANKS BYTRO FOR MAKING THIS SYSTEM SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!! <- for emphasis at sarcasm... 4 days in no trade except my own and day 1 trades. Another buyer, no sellers...

If I quit this is the reason I quit. Something so lame as paying 30% penalty

You could also just bight the bullet... and use the market anyway. The smaller maps are affected much more than larger ones with more active players....

On my latest 100 map, market slowed down for a week, then picked back up again.

This is so true ... In the smaller maps, those with gold can make up for this flaw in the current trading system by buying those needed resources with gold ... I know, because I have done so myself with my gold.

Thus, the market tax will survive.

Intended consequence in play. As I review the tax it appears to actually be only 10% to both parties as well. 10% seller if you buy it you are paying the seller the goods cost and adding 10% on top for the nerf tax. Totally screws up a lot of trades stuff you could do. I myself also made many pennies on the open market every opportunity and middle man trader for many games. Now thats basically impossible and once a trade goes up unless desperate you dont pull it... or you lose BIG TIME. Stupid in my book.

Market started to slowly come online in about a week, i think that is just normal and when slow players start outproducing their builds and other players turn NPCs but trades are still garbage.
