I think you are a 3/4 year to late to talk about the UI. Yes it's different to 30K or Supremacy but if you play it for a longer time you get the right feeling for it. I like it!

UI Positions
So this could be because I am a thirty kingdoms and Supremacy player but the UI feels a bit odd to me.
I like the newspaper, reasearch and diplomacy icons but their location is a bit to far out of the way. The game has a huge space at the bottom of the screen couldnt we put the icons down there?

Im still not used to it. I am to much of a fan of the old ways of the bottom bar.
