Unbalanced Doctrines (Comintern)

I typically play 100p, 22 p (EU + Africa), and 50p Pacific quite often and as an experienced player on 1.5, I think that Comintern is an awkward and wanting doctrine that needs to be reworked/buffed.

Allies - Late | Pan-Asian - Early | Axis - Early | Comintern - Late?

I understand that the whole dynamic is that Allies are best late game and Axis are best early, but Comintern feels really weak and out of place.

Having played both 1.0 and 1.5, in the former, unit upkeep was a huge problem. It was almost like an artifical unit cap simply because the unit upkeep was so high. Tanks guzzled oil like there was no tommorow and infantry ate like it thanksgiving every day. In 1.5, this issue is null; a 25% decrease in unit upkeep compounded with a 15% production decrease is practically worthless in comparison to other bonuses. While I will admit that the 15% production decrease is somewhat valuable (being able to squeeze alot more troops mid to late), these bonuses essentially translate to being able to have more resources.

But the main deal-breaker for me is the 10% damage decrease. I could go on and explain why, but I'd open a pandora's box of different playstyles and scenarios.

While I do feel that doctrines aren't everything and that skill is much more important, this is just one of the many little advantages that can add up to winning a war/battle/game with your opponent.

i dont know what are you talking about, comintern its too weak early but a monster late, leave a comintern grow and eventually they will become unstopable, the key with comintern its more production building, upgrade the building rather than upgrade units and just keep spamming troops, do not upgrade a unit unless its 2 or 3 level outdate.

on research go for variety of units instead of focus on 2 or 3 units, if you upgrade a unit too much the production time will be very slow, and what you want is numbers so avoid upgrade units if this mean you cant spam them very fast.

you can easily have 700 units at day 20 on a world map, if you cant compensate the increase of hp and damage of a upgraded unit, then spam more units, overstack them to get more hp.their damage efficiency will go down slower, so in very long battles your army will end having more attack than the enemy.

also another thing with comintern its go for artillery and defense units, most of "comintern player" just avoid melee, they micromanage the artillery to deal full damage, and do hit & run tactics, air its just a defensive weapon against fast incursions. rairoad guns are your best friend, 1 its not a big deal, 10 per every stack its monstruous, remember to overstack your units, its not a big deal losing eficiency, who cares about eficiency when nobody ever deal to get near your army, if the enemy use fast units, remember the penalty of 50% movement speed on enemy territory, build infraestructures, have another big army behind your fist big army.

on early you should stay defensive, your economy do not depend on expanding, just wait to acumulate more unit to overwelm the enemy and attack them at that moment.

soo more time you leave a comintern player accumulate troops, they will become more and more stronger. its like cancer, the key like every other doctrine its know how to use them properly, and comintern its tremendous using them properly.

Hmm, to be fair, I've never really faced off against a "good" comitern player for the most part so that's on me.

After looking at the production cost being cut along with the lower upkeep, I don't really understand how you can make so many units. To my understanding, allies has an actual production speed increase vs comintern.

Comitern is probably one of the best. They have the best buff for the best unit in the game in my opinion the SP Rocket arty. An as the guy above me stated its all about how you play it honestly. An in my opinion the allies are weak

The greatest weakness to a leader is his himself

bcuz you dont have enougth production building. The bonus of the allies can be easily superated with more buildings. For this reason i find the production bonus of the allies irrelevant later on the game except for railroad guns and nukes
