I'm mostly confused on how this gets you more cards/gold... Also the max is way higher than 130,000, I know this because I am sitting at over a million right now, and I know many others with multimillions. The ads are available in-game, and will be the same no matter how many games you join. I'm getting the idea that this guy goes on for weeks by doing nothing but watch ads, I didn't realize people actually enjoyed watching them to this degree.
Unintended concequences
I was playing a American - Homefront game and the strangest thing happened. The guy next to me shot me a message saying that I could have his land. He will move his troops out and I can just roll in. I messaged him back saying hey this is a strange tactic wtf are you doing? He mentioned watching adds. I asked if he was just trolling for gold or something. He responded that he had already maxed out at gold at 130,000 from the ads. He then explained that he is just after booster cards. He played a game with 4 of his friends and got rolled with someone with a ton of cards. So when he plays now he just kind of afk's the game and unlocks boosters to save up for a game that he plays seriously. He does this so that when he plays seriously he can engage in similar toxic type game play.
I hope that the game creators have considered such game play. This is the first I have ran into this but I constantly run into games where people leave or are not very active. I would like to know how many people are doing this. It's incredible to me the lengths people will go to in my opinion ruin fair game play.
This causes two things to happen:
Near afg game play to occur for people to gather cards.
This also causes toxic game play when someone brings a ton of boosters into play.
Both of these lead negatively to players who are simply trying to play a game that is exciting. Games where you are not playing against active players isn't very fun. AI isn't nearly as fun as rl players. Getting rolled by some one pulling units out of their butts also does not lead to fun game play.
Thanks for your consideration. I do not know how many people are doing this. I just found it very interesting. Its kind of like real warfare people will find away not to fight fair. I applaud the human mind's capacity to continually mess stuff up in the name of "Winning"

You think it's hard to compete against players with tons of booster cards and gold from watching adds.
Consider what it's like for PC users who don't get the adds.
They removed gold from ads anyway

Oh, they did? I haven't watched any in a while. Actually, I haven't even played a match since the HWW.

I haven't played for a while too. I watch using archived game
I haven't watched any since the update, and it still has 1700 gold =). The secret to having gold ads is by not watching them >=)
I seldom watch them. Just once a week. And still the gold vanished
Make booster cards expire after a certain amount of time if you don't use them like in War Thunder
We may see them get spammed in games though, that's the issue.shoreparty wrote:

If the devs made a new rule that starting today all boosters will be deleted after 3 days of sitting in your inventory then yea you would see people spamming them for the next 3 days while they use up all of their boosters they have accumulated over the years but after 3 days everyone would be on the same level playing field and people wouldn't be able to hoard boosters anymore going forward.
I see your point, but 3 days may just be too little. People will spam them because of how fast they get them anyway.

And who gets them fast? Not PC users that's for sure.Donk2.0 wrote:

Only mobile users and Payday ops buyers get them.
No, thank you, but NO!shoreparty wrote:
