honestly the promoting cancelling mechanism being changed is probably much more important
I find it somewhat annoying trying to promote units every time I upgrade my research, because it involves individually selecting every army I have (not too bad in early game but a real nuisance towards the end).
I'd quite like to see: 1) units eligible for promotion given a little tag on the map to make them visually distinguishable, or 2) another column added in the 'armies' menu in the side bar showing whether a unit can be promoted or not. (The second would be preferable, not changing the game aesthetically or adding visually obtrusive elements.)
I'm aware of the quick way to do this - selecting every army in one go and then promoting everything that needs it in one go - but there are two reasons why this doesn't always work for me:
1. I can't always afford to upgrade everything immediately, so being able to pick and choose which ones are the most important makes things much easier.
2. If I'm in the middle of a heated war, sometimes I need units on the front line NOW at the cost of being a level lower than they would otherwise; holding them up for a few hours to promote them isn't always worth it.
Is this just a problem I have, or would other people be benefited by a change of this sort?

I think I can somewhat agree with Zhukov. Usually you can simply use the add army feature and it does the trick. You can also make boxes to select masses of units both in mobile and PC!
Iβm not sure what he means about the upgrading canceling thing thoughβ¦
I meant that how upgrades are cancelled should be overhauled
Elaborate, please.TheZhukov wrote:

ok
I think you read how my battleships cancelled upgrading when I changed the move order. 15k metal lost
So a cancel upgrade button should be made
And changing orders should no longer cancel it
Usually chancing orders does not, but I get the adding of another button. I think it would be unnecessary though. Simply tell your unit to move in place or somewhere else if you want to.TheZhukov wrote:

Fair enough. I'd read some stuff about the cancelling issues, but not having personally experienced it means I'm not quite so aware of the extent to which it's causing problems.TheZhukov wrote:

Yeah as explained that doesn't always work; if I can't afford to upgrade everything, and usually I can't, selecting the entire army actually makes it harder for me to single out the things that need promotion most urgently. On re-thinking though this entire post is probably just needless nit-picking on my part, seeing as nobody else seems to have a problem with the way it works.Carking the 6th wrote:

It was just a thought.
So like how you select which units you split from a stack, you want to pick which units to upgrade? Not a bad ideaβ¦
Yeah, pretty much, although I'd want to see where said units are on the map.
