Upgrading Game
Good Morning:
I am in a game where I spent the last three weeks building up my armies to invade Algeria. I finally pulled the trigger this morning (April 22) and attacked three different cities. Within a half an hour, I received a pop up that said Call Of War had been upgraded and I needed to reload my game; so I did. Now I can't get back in. Since I am fighting a computer player, I suspect the computer will keep playing while I am logged out and, when I can finally get back in, my armies will be wiped out and instead of me invading another country, my country will be invaded since I have no armies in reserve.
Moving forward, maybe give a little warning when an update will occur. If I had known you were going to upgrade, I would have waited another day to invade Algeria.
As well, please make sure members can log back into their games after an upgrade. It is frustrating when you can't.
Thanks.

Thanks Ryan.
I agree that COW management should look at providing some type of system wide message to the membership that would alert everyone that an upgrade will take place and that the servers will be down (even estimate how long the servers will be down for).
How do we contact management with this suggestion or will they simple see these posts as part of the process and take this under consideration?

The game developers constantly check the forums and I am sure that they will read this. If not, @Arcorian @freezy. You can also send a private message to the developers mentioned above to get their attention!
Stay save!

Scheduled updates such as these will almost always result in a period while the server is restarting where the game is inaccessible. As this period is typically only long enough for the average player to get a cup of coffee or similar refreshing beverage a notification beforehand is unnecessary. As the update rolls out each server in turn processes the update so there is not any guaranteed time during the roughly 2 hour window where your specific game will be affected.
This is a routine part of the game and in general there will be an update done some day during the week at around the same time. Some weeks there is no update.

Thanks for the information and understand that it might be impossible to notify members when an update is scheduled to occur. I am new to this game and just found it frustrating that the one day I decide to enter into major battles, within 30 minutes I had to leave the game (around 6:00AM EST) and still can't get into the server (3:25PM EST). I can just picture my armies getting wiped out because they are sitting ducks...lol. Three weeks or more preparation gone.
Oh well, that is the way it goes.

This release only affected each game for perhaps 15 minutes. If your browser is still bringing you in circles then you need to clear your browser cache, close, and restart your browser.Brad1956 wrote:

Similar problems with me....I have not been able to play Call of War for the entire day....trying time and time again to get back in and the system will not load properly and allow my play......what a mess....very disappointed and frustrated.
I cleared my cache and restarted my browser as suggested; still can't get the game to load (1:00AM Thursday). I guess whatever you did on Tuesday caused the game to be no longer compatible with my computer. This is too bad since I think I would have liked this war game (I was actually winning....lol).
Take care everyone and stay safe.

Hang around, there are some issues today that are still being worked out. Check back; I'm confident they'll get you squared away.
