upgrading of units

Is it possible to upgrade units when a higher level is researched?

if not, I wouls suggest the ability to upgrade units in the field or the ability to delete units with a refund of resources based on that units health percent.

Yes when you research a higher level of a unit that means ALL of the units you currently own are upgraded to the next level.
