What, you want to reintroduce oppressive monarchy? A single human in charge of the whole nation simply because he was born into the right family? Why do that when you could have a leader chosen by the people themselves on merits of his own? Or hers, as the case could well be.

No; by my own argument, one's rank ought to be considered irrelevant when one's potential leadership capabilities are considered. If the people would prefer to be led by someone who happens to already be nobility, that's fine, as long as said nobility doesn't use it to insist on acquiring said leadership.
