I do not know if this has been talked about yet but I think it would be a cool idea to give battle hardened units some sort of advantage. Units that have seen more combat and have more battle experience are of a lot more value to military commanders than new ones and there should be a way to integrate this into the game. For example a veteran infantry unit at 75% hp should easily be able to defeat a brand new infantry unit at 100% hp. This would also add a new fun dynamic to the game.

In Supremacy 1914 you can see how much troops a unit could destroy well we can make it a base to make troops more skilled for exemple :
for the first 25 destroyed units, your troops will get a +5% damages/defense in against all types of units
then 25 other destroyed gives an other 5% ... till 100 (to have +20% max) then for each 25 killed units your troops will have 5% chances not to lose moral in the 1st hour of fights next 25 give you 10% per 1h till 24h then well you can say that you have 100% veteran units

I agree with this idea, although BBB has a point. Many units get killed in battle and most of them wouldn't live to get much experience.
As long as the unit remains intact, at least one survivor (man) can impact the experience of a unit.
Replenishment in a unit (reinforcements) doesn't necessarily need to detract from a units capability.
