This has been suggested before. While it would add more realism to the game, it would also make the mechanics much more complicated and more difficult to master. This could dissuade new players from continuing with the game.qwertupo wrote:

I agree but iirc it was suggested before.
One big issue with a weather system is that it would be random (as weather usually is). That means that you could be making optimal plays all game long and then still lose because of one unlucky weather occurance. If you have played or watched Hearthstone for example, you will know how frustrating it is to be on the receiving end of bad RNG especially if you didn't make any mistakes throughout the game.
That would make it more likely for players to have stacks less than 10 since that would make it less likely for 100 ships to die, also you could have the weather appear 4 days in since hurricane heading for your port on day 1 come on, and one more thing they probably won't have to add a deduction hp percentage for each unit added which would make it historically inaccurate since why would that make sense more units = alot of hp.Agent47 wrote:

Maybe instead of weather, seasons could work. One of the main reasons the Soviets pushed the Germans back in WWII was because they knew how to fight in the winter, whereas the Germans didn't.
well yeah but the finnish were even more prepared than the soviets and managed to push back the soviets despite their small numbers in the winter war. finland is axis so how would that work out?DoctorDR1 wrote:
