I'm tired of this...it's getting that I can't play any map without several players overwhelming me because they have many many cards to play and endless amounts of gold.
I just finished my last game. I'm gone. Going to find a new game....NOT from Bytro....that is not money grubbing greedy douches.
To all you addicts who continue to feed their greed, may you go bankrupt
I'm sure several of you will be glad to see me go.

It's not the gold users that are the problem...You can get gold through placing on maps, achievement thresholds, or ad watching (if that is still going on)
It's the gold "BUYERS" that are the spoilers.
Those who can afford to spend that much money to gain the advantage over those who are actually better players is an unsportsmanlike way to win.
The gold buyers (and the payday folks) are vastly outnumbered by the players who play for the fun of it. But those few are enough to ruin the enjoyment for the rest.

Yes, they can be disruptive, especially when you've invested your time in a game and it goes dead because of golders. Because the only real answer is to archive the game and let them have their fun fighting the AI. Just start a new one.
Also remember that these guys pay for our free game. When they weren't there, the game wouldn't exist, or at least, force Bytro to think about different monetizing strategies.

My question is, if Bytro knows that a significant part of its community resents mass golders, they should generate revenue from other sources, like the “Watch ads for gold” thing they started. If they make that available to everyone they would be making a lot of money. Another option is to expand their merch store.

The gold from watching ads was fine...except it was not available to PC users...only mobile.
Despite several complaints about this (mine included), the response was that it was not possible....not much of an answer
Nowadays anything is possible. The ambition to do it is absent.
If the money flowing into their pockets started drying up I'm sure they'd find a way.

I am not so sure. If you play one game at a time and always watch the adds, you still can have a big amount of gold and booster cards. I for example only played 11 ranked games and have about 230k gold and like 1500 booster cards. If I would invest 25 days worth of gold (=42.5k) and booster cards in the first few days of a game I would greatly benefit from it and my gold and booster cards would same approximately the same (assuming a game lasts 15 days and starting a new game after 10 days). The advantage compared to the blunt usage of gold described above that it is still more of a game.
I am wondering how many players use gold and booster cards in a more moderate amount and if that is not considered an issue as well as you might not notice or know for sure this more sneaky usage of gold.

many do not use mobile.
The only gold I get is from victories or achievement levels, and right now that is zero because of the ranking bug.
And boosters?...lol...have to have available operations for that...nothing but special events and paydays now
This game is now focused on mobile use and/or big wallets
