I full agree with you, it's probably the case of 90% of the players, but they don't seen to understand the problem .
12 hours play/12 hours rest
I suggest you develop games where you play for 12 hours, then the game is inactive for 12 hours, and so on every day until a winner emerges. I can't play during work hours, and I have to sleep. But I can be active the rest of the time (and I guess that's the case with many people). I play your game only during vacation. And many of my friends leave the game because they can't afford 24 hours activity. I can't understand the shortsightedness of the game developers, why aren't there 12/12 games yet?

As in people are only able to access the game during a specific 12 hours of the day?
It's not shortsightedness as you say.... its logic.
One word: -----Timezones-----
What time zone are games based on?
Let's say for fun, lets day Dubai.
Ok now the person in Dubai can play from 8 am to 8 pm.
Let's say you are from Los Angeles, now you can only play from 8 pm to 8 am.
Let's add a logical sleep schedule. 12-8
Ok now you can only play from 8 to 12 which gives you 4 hours vs the 12 the others are able to.
Now lets say "Oh well have them create "Americas only servers" "European only Servers"
Half the people already quit when the game is not going their way, servers would be dead faster than you can select your nation.
How about, and I know it might sound crazy, but it could be based on ALL the time zones.truffa wrote:

Have new games start every hour. Games starting at that hour run for twelve hours then pause for another twelve.
That way you can find a starting time that fits your schedule.
It goes back to the same concept. It is going to limit a lot the people that would be joining.
Might as well just go play Civ with a bunch of friends so the game only runs when everyone is on.
Um, yeah, that kinda is the point.truffa wrote:

Not everyone wants that kind of game.
For those who do, now they have the option.
For the rest of the player base, it is business as usual.
Everybody is happier.
