I think that’s actually a really good idea. I was just today lamenting the fact that any kinds of drones are hidden behind a paywall, and even as is are lacking any real diversity that would match the drone warfare we see today, which I’d imagine a modern ww3 game would really want to mirror. I think a fair trade-off would be making these drones CONSIDERABLY less affective than loitering munitions, either through speed; interceptability, damage output, etc… and are also further blunted by not having a “one shoe fits all” drone.
Additional drones
Drones are a widely used nowadays for recon, attack and sabotage but while they are implemented in game they still feel like a rare/ niche thing.
What I suggest:
New drone tab with each drone being researched and upgraded.
Long range sabotage drones capable of great infrastructure and city level damage (poor man's missiles- worse than a ballistic, cheaper)
recon drones being widely used, deployed by upgraded infantry (1 drone every 12 hours). Recon drones can attack and deal 1 soft attack 2 hard attack, or something. A suicide overall
Attack drones- more damage or easier/ faster deployement. We see nowadays large scale drone attacks.
Loitering munition is top, no need to change
Sabotage drone deals more damage to ships and buildings
Naval drone seems okay.
Static drone structures/ silos. I read about these in Israel and Iran -> those will be underground structures which can deploy large amounts of drone swarms. In the game these can deploy large scale, medium/long range drone attacks- deploying many drones.
