Might be a controversial take, but why would the devs/shareholders cut their own income?
And matches without gold are already available for alliance vs alliance games through elite tickets.
What i'm saying is, they have potential for more income.
There are differn't customers in the market.
- Some customers are willing to spend tons of gold and buy matches, that's fine
- some customers are willing to pay security access and maybe buy an officer or two
- some customers want to play and have fun and not spend money
if your entire model is built around the top gold players, you are missing out on the bottom customers. and driving players toward inactivity and not playing the game anymore
Just some ideas here
Non security access players --> maybe there is some sort of ad component that could generate revenue
Security access players --> eliminate ads and get access to fire control ect.
Top gold spending players --> maybe they get more perks, maybe they pay a higher amount to gain access to gold purchases, idk what this would look like
The goal would be to create an environment that allows actual competition for non gold players, while also maintaining your cash cow gold spenders.
you get steady income from ads for non security members,
you get steady income from average security access players through subscription
and you still get outrageous income from gold spenders.
Gold spenders are gonna spend gold no matter what because that's what they want to do. They are completely ok with buying gold to win.
average players will never do that, and by occomadating average players with fair competition, you create a customer that will stick around and keep paying a monthly membership, even if they never buy gold.
but when the game is rigged in favor of gold. average players become uniterested, frustraited, and leave, cutting a source of income from security access.
The devs could potentially make more money by driving gold players to play each other as well. If you have 5 players spending gold to win a match, you get them into an Ego battle and they spend more and more and more to try to win.
I am not familiar with the non-gold alliance matches. i have heard that, and tried to figure that out and have had no luck. I've looked and asked in discord about the non-gold alliance matches and searched forums but can't figure it out. So maybe all of the above is unecessary if alliance matches are non-gold.
BUT if the alliance matches ARE non-gold, then maybe that needs to be communicated more effectively somehow in the user interface. Because i have struggled to figure it out.
