Today’s update brings consistent combat timers to all Call of War scenarios. Newly created maps will use the same default melee combat and patrol intervals, regardless of their speed factor. We have also fixed issues affecting sound playback, player profiles, and espionage reports.
Consistent Combat Timers Across All Maps
We have standardized the base combat and patrol intervals across all regular maps, event maps, and scenarios:
- Melee combat: a base interval of 30 minutes.
- Patrols: a base interval of 15 minutes.
These intervals scale with the map’s speed factor. On a 4x speed map, for example, melee combat ticks occur every 7m30s and patrol ticks every 3m45s. The base values are now consistent, so you can expect the same timing on maps with the same speed factor.
We may revisit custom or modified combat timers in the future. If a scenario uses modified timers, we will let you know ahead of time.
What This Means for Your Maps
The timer changes apply only to new maps created after today’s update. Maps that were already running will keep their existing combat and patrol intervals.
We may revisit custom or modified combat timers in the future. If a scenario uses modified timers, we will let you know ahead of time, so you can take those differences into account before joining.
Bug Fixes
Alongside the timer adjustments, this update addresses the following issues:
- Sound playback: Fixed a bug that caused multiple sounds to overlap and produce a loud noise. No more audio jump scares.
- Player profiles: Corrected an issue that displayed the wrong capital and stats when viewing player profiles within a map.
- Turncoat spies: Espionage reports now correctly display the country of origin of spies who switch allegiance to another nation.
- Captured spies: Fixed incorrect reports about the number of spies caught. Both the spy owner and the captor now receive the correct count in their espionage reports.
Thank you for your feedback. Let us know how the updated timers feel in your next round!
