Today’s update brings a fresh set of improvements to Call of War, with a focus on making the game smoother to use and more reliable in the moments that matter.
These Release Notes also include changes that were already deployed with the update on September 8, 2026, so you have a full overview of the latest improvements that went live during September.
Mobile players will already have noticed several interface updates, while desktop users can expect a cleaner presentation for collectibles. We have also addressed a number of important issues affecting coalition cooldowns, research, and army upgrades.
A Cleaner Interface
Managing your armies on mobile should feel clear and responsive, especially when decisions need to be made quickly.
To make that experience more consistent, we updated the army bar and province bar so they would follow the same visual style as the resource bar.
The latest mobile UI improvements included:
- An updated army bar and province bar that matches the resource bar style.
- A re-arrangement of command buttons.
- A redesign of the army info window to match the updated interface.
Following this last update we heard your feedback - accordingly, the Command buttons have been rearranged and refreshed with today’s release. Move and attack buttons are more clearly distinguished, and the buttons take up less screen space by default.
We also heard your feedback for movement, combat timers and hitpoint values not being properly visible. This was especially noticeable in some languages - we fixed the display of the timers so they are comfortably visible.
But that’s not all yet. We also made improvements to the re-designed army info window, bringing the vital combat statistics back into focus. All essential tabs are now opened by default. This reduces the need for extra clicks to access vital information.
Coalition Cooldowns and Research Now Work as Intended
A few important fixes in this update address situations where game systems were not behaving as expected.
On faster maps, coalition cooldown timers previously ignored the map’s speed factor. This meant players could end up waiting longer than intended before taking certain coalition actions. The timer now scales correctly with the speed of the map.
We have also fixed a critical issue with research. In some cases, finishing research did not properly grant the newly researched unit level. Completed research will now correctly provide the intended unit level.
These fixes should make the game behave more predictably, letting you plan ahead without headaches.
Army Upgrade Exploit Closed
We have also resolved a critical exploit involving army stacks that were in the process of upgrading.
Previously, another army stack could be merged into a stack while its upgrade was still active. This could cause the upgrade to apply to the newly combined stack instead of only to the units that had originally started upgrading.
That interaction has now been fixed, ensuring upgrades only affect the units they are meant to.
We hope these improvements make your next operation a little smoother.
See you on the battlefield.
